Real Life, Real Stories: Nic & Brett

Nic and Brett’s wedding weekend was spent with their family and friends on the beach at a place that they both love. They choose Kingscliff NSW which is a tranquil coastal town just south of Tweed Heads, its picturesque beach scenes make it a stunning spot for a weekend full of wedding bliss. This idyllic spot was chosen because this is where Nic has spent a lot of time over the past 30 years and was also where she considered moving to before her relationship with Brett blossomed.

The ceremony took place at Rowan Robinson Park which provided a scenic ocean backdrop for their nuptials. Nic and Brett began their ceremony by lighting a candle to honour the parent that they had lost, and Nic was also able to carry around a keyring with a beautiful picture of her mother on it which was gifted to her by her best friend, Jessica. To honour her mother Nic wore her mother’s engagement ring and chose to carry a bouquet of native flowers which were her mother’s favourite kind. This gorgeous arrangement has since been dried to place on Nic’s mother’s grave.

Nic and Brett were married at 3pm on a rainy day but luckily enough the sun broke through the clouds just as their ceremony started. The sky was overcast for their wedding photos which provided the perfect lighting. These were taken by their talented friend Bronwyn (@essieandelsie), Bronwyn captured Nic and Brett’s special day in the most beautiful way and created memories for them to keep forever. Afterwards, Nic and Brett’s wedding reception was held nearby at Kingscliff Beach Hotel which provided the perfect relaxed atmosphere to spend with their guests for a night of celebration.

For her wedding, Nic wore our Mimi Gown and Nic says “I fell in love with its elegance, style & it had a bit of glam tizz about it! I felt the style suited me and I felt amazing in it, it was perfect for our day.” Nic wasn’t too sure of what style she was going to wear for her wedding but knew the Mimi Dress was the one when she went on a shopping trip at Myer Melbourne and found it. The Mimi Dress perfectly suited Nic and Brett’s wedding day as it glimmered on the sand against the enchanting oceanic backdrop.
