Real Life, Real Stories: Cara & Vincent

Cara and Vincent’s autumn wedding was a day full of love, celebration and dreamy sunset shades. In the early afternoon on Saturday the 20th of April, 2024, Cara and Vincent were married at the beautiful St Mary Cathedral in Perth. A church which is known for being at the centre of the city as well as for it’s breath taking and wonderous architectural qualities. The bride's mum, Helen, walked her down the aisle of the church and gave her away, amongst the harmonious sounds of the church organs as well as the 145 guests that were in attendance. Cara and Vincent had a bridal party of twelve, and both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen wore black, a colour that suited everyone and which contrasted well against Cara’s white wedding dress and Vincent’s cream suit. Cara wore a dress from a boutique in Melbourne, The Bridal Curator. Her wedding dress was classic and elegant, and she paired her gown with gloves, a wedding accessory that Cara had always dreamed of wearing on her wedding day. Cara was able to work with the bridal stylist to find ones that suited best with her wedding dress, and got them made to match.

Before the reception commenced, Cara and Vincent, along with their wedding photographer, were lucky enough to catch the glowing sunset of the 30 degree sunshine filled day. Their photos were shot with a beautiful water backdrop and enchanting orange hued sky. The sunset shades continued from here into the reception, with their venue coloured in pink details, from pink rose table centrepieces to blush pink toned napkins and menus. It was a simple yet dreamy and elegant colour palette for an autumn wedding celebration. The wedding reception was held at the South Of Perth Yacht Club just beyond sundown at 6pm, and they began the evening with their first dance which was to Never Tear Us Apart by INXS. From there the dancing continued into the night with Italian tarantella dancing, and Croatian dancing, which was fitting as Vincent is Italian and Cara is Croatian. Their reception also featured a special Italian tradition in which the bride and groom are wrapped in colourful streamers after their first dance.

The colourful details continued beyond the sunset photos and the pink hued wedding reception, with Cara’s mum, Helen wearing a pink mother of the bride dress for the wedding ceremony, to walk Cara down the aisle in. Helen happened to walk into Myer on day on the chance she may find a dress for the wedding. She walked past Montique and saw the Amelia Hot Pink Gown on display, she told us “it was what I was looking for.” When she tried it on it fit her perfectly, and other than a small hem adjustment, she said “I really felt so special in the dress.” It was decided that it would be the perfect choice for her daughter’s wedding ceremony. It was also on another visit to Montique when Helen found her look for her daughter’s wedding reception, Helen tried on the Ava Red Top and the Lux Red Skirt and her and her daughter both loved it. Helen told us that “I got a lot of beautiful comments on my dresses. It was my daughter's special day and being the mother of the bride is a very special time for a mother as well. I was privileged to walk her down the aisle.”
