Striking Separates and How to Style Them

It is always good to have a closet full of separates as they can be created into different outfit combinations for different events and occasions. Whether you need a fancy but not over the top look for a corporate lunch with a sophisticated pair of pants or a skirt. Or a chic outfit for mid-week lunch that might involve a lovely top. Or even if you just want a jeans a fancy blouse look for a family barbecue with a fur jacket addition for when you are sitting outside. Whatever the event may be, having a few different separates available in your rotation will allow you to create new and exciting looks all of the time. Below we have put together some of our favourite combinations of daily looks.

Jazz Up a Neutral Look

Want to go for an all-black look but you don’t want it to look boring? Try bringing in new fabrics or patterns. It could be a little embellishment top like a beaded or sequin number with some chic black straight leg trousers. Or you could opt for a pair of black jeans and some slinky heels for a weekend brunch look or a hen’s party. Either way a little embellishment will jazz up any pair of pants and then you can add accessories such as earrings to dress yourself up even more depending on the occasion.

Insert Pattern Here

Bringing in a bit of trendy patterns or prints is always a good idea. A good pattern can take your look from drab to fab in an instant and if you decide to wear a printed top you can pair it with a neutral bottom such as a black skirt or black pants. You could go for an animal print or a floral print but either way you will look oh so stunning. You can even add a fur jacket or a bolero to your look to finish it off.

Play with Textures

If patterns aren’t so much your thing there is no need to worry – you can play with textures instead. It could be a silk texture or a lace texture that breaks up your fit. Pair textures with different textures too for a bit of a contrasting look that will scream chic and sophisticated street style. Add an earring and a heel or a stunning pair of flats to take your separates look to a whole new level.
