Montique Moments: Tainara & Joshua
Tainara and Joshua first met in Sydney four years ago, and it wasn't long before they fell in love. Two years later, the pair became engaged in Brazil, setting the wheels in motion for not one but two beautiful marital celebrations. On the 28th of February, the couple held a small official wedding in Sydney, exchanging vows at the registry in Pyrmont before heading to a relaxed lunch with loved ones at Chiswick. Which was a beautiful day shared with twenty of their closest friends and family. In July, the couple then flew to Brazil for a second wedding on the 11th, a celebration with Tainara's family at home that turned out to be nothing short of unforgettable.
The Brazilian festivities began two days early with a wedding food tasting, where they were presented an incredible spread of bite-sized flavours, each as beautifully styled as it was delicious. On the wedding day, the bridal party gathered at Viviane Calian salon, were a group of makeup artists, hairstylists and photographers all preparing for the day ahead. The church was transformed with an abundance of white flowers, while an orchestra and three vocalists from Vocal Música filled the space with music. As Joshua waited at the altar, a French horn and trumpet announced Tainara's arrival, playing first at the closed doors and again as they opened to reveal her walking in with her father to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love." Tainara's wedding dress was every bit as stunning as the moment deserved, and two four-year-old ring bearers stole the show as they made their way down the aisle.
The reception that followed at Espaço Lagoon was an open-air celebration with beautifully dressed tables, a cachaça bar and a dance floor, while teepees, games, face painting and a dedicated entertainment team kept everyone dancing the night away. True to Brazilian tradition, Joshua auctioned off pieces of his tie to the highest bidder, and once the DJ switched from familiar hits to Brazilian music, the dance floor truly came alive, the night ending with the cutting of the wedding cake and trays of brigadeiro.
Leading up to the Brazilian wedding, Tainara and her good friend Juliana took Joshua's mum, Gaye, into the city for a day of shopping. With no fixed idea of what she wanted, Gaye happily left it to the girls to lead the way. The trio started at the Montique store in Myer Sydney, where a navy beaded dress caught Gaye's eye, before continuing on to Montique's David Jones Sydney store. Gaye spotted the Montique range and fell for a stunning emerald piece with a draped back feature, which was our Sydney Petrol Metallic Gown. Gaye told us that "the dress sat perfectly at the waist, the fabric falling beautifully with every movement" with Gaye being tall this meant no alterations were needed, making this style a stand out choice for her Mother of the Groom Gown. Gaye also told us she "loved the way the light reflected off the fabric, and it was so much easier to put on than every other gown she tried on." Paired back with a silver Steve Madden sandal to complete the look. Gaye was ready for an emotional walk down the aisle, as Gaye doubled back after entering the church so she could give her son away herself, in front of 240 family and friends.
