Saturday the 8th of June was a beautiful winter’s day with just a hint of warmth in the air and serene blue skies. This enchanting setting created a romantic and picturesque atmosphere for the nuptials between Eliza and Rohun. In the early afternoon, Eliza and Rohun were married in front of the Powerhouse Gardens at Queensland’s Museum Rail Workshop. The ceremony’s backdrop was a breathtaking heritage building which contrasted with the warm autumnal colour scheme which the bride and groom carefully selected to blend both Australian and Indian cultures. Eliza’s dress was a warm white off the shoulder dress, complementing this, Rohun’s traditional Chavane suit was burgundy with gold embellishments. The bridesmaids and bridesman wore an array of warm hues such as forest green and rust orange. The warm hues and the rustic venue intertwined perfectly to pay homage to each of their cultures, creating an unforgettable wedding.
After the ceremony, Eliza and Rohun lead their guests to the Railway Workshops for pre-drinks. Surrounded by the “village that raised them”; 120 adored friends and family, with many interstate and international guests coming together. The focus was on the newlyweds' love, filling the atmosphere with lots of joy, excitement and teary eyes. The guests also had access to the museum before the reception started at 6:00 pm. The reception was held in a heritage listed building, which was once the lunch room for the workers of the Railway Workshop. The two knee height autumnal floral arrangements from the ceremony were placed beside the wedding cake at the reception. As guests entered the reception, they were greeted by the warmth of a beautifully lit room, high ceilings adding a touch of grandeur. The rustic charm of tongue and groove walls created an inviting atmosphere, while autumnal motifs were woven into every detail. From the elegant table runners to the gold charger plates, all elements came together seamlessly. The main dish on the menu was a tasteful butter chicken and beef masala, which was enjoyed by all. The ambient lighting illuminated the floral arrangements and created a romantic atmosphere with the newlyweds dancing the night away.
Eliza’s mother, Rosslyn wore our mesmerising Giselle Gunmetal Hand Bead Gown styled with our carina mink bolero. Finishing her look by accessorising with our Gina Gunmetal Earrings to match the tone of the gown. With the colour scheme in mind, Rossyln decided to wear darker shades to be cohesive with the hues of the day. Eliza’s father, Rodney wore a dark burgundy suit complementing the gunmetal colours perfectly. Rosslyn, accompanied by Eliza, found her mother of the bride gown in our Montique store in Myer Carindale. She tried on several other dresses but she went back to the second one she tried on, which was our Giselle Gown. Rosslyn paired the Sloane Bolero with her dress to finish off her winter wedding look. She told us that “what we really liked about the dress was that it was a perfect fit – including the length (I am 175cms tall) and that it looked as nice from the back as the front.”
