Real Life, Real Stories: Angus & Mark

Saturday the 23rd of March, was a beautiful autumnal day with rich warm golden hues, creating a dreamy setting for the nuptials between Angus and Mark. In a city that glows with vibrant tones and crisp sunsets, Melbourne was a favourable choice for the grooms. The special venue was the regal Rippon Lea Estate, which created an impeccable backdrop for this perfect day. The estate is a national heritage listed 19th century gem, with 7 hectares of grand Victorian gardens. The ceremony had 134 guests in attendance and was held on the picturesque grounds surrounded by an ornamental lake, orchard, fernery and sweeping lawns which made for a magnificent wedding ceremony. The couple's Australian native theme for their floral arrangements perfectly complemented the brunonia blue velvet tuxedo jacket worn by Angus and the rich banksia red jacket worn by Mark. Seamlessly, the rich earthy tones and the Victorian architecture intertwined together to create an unforgettable rustic garden wedding.

After the ceremony, Angus and Mark led their guests to the pool area where delicious canapés were served. As the sun was setting the opulent native floral panel arrangements that accompanied the sides of the stage at the ceremony were transferred to the entrance of the reception. Once the guests walked through the immersive entrance they were transported into the charming gilded ballroom. Angus and Mark decided the native table decorations needed only white cloths and pale mint green napkins to accompany them. The warm lighting which illuminated the floral arrangements created a romantic atmosphere. Surrounded by adored friends and family, with many interstate and international guests coming together, the focus was on the newlyweds' love, filling the atmosphere with lots of joy and excitement. This led to a surprised choreographed flash dance where guests joined in from all 13 tables.

Angus’ mother, Paula, wore our mesmerizing Mimi Mink Hand Beaded Gown. Paula first tried on our Mimi Gown in our Montique Pacific Fair store location. This is where she first saw the gown and fell in love with it. Paula said of the gown that it was "really comfortable to wear… great fit with enough stretch." Making the style easy to dance in and wear during the day ceremony and into the evening. Along with Paula feeling comfortable and confident, many of her friends and family complimented her gown. The Mimi Gown offers the perfect balance between formality and party, this can be attributed to the flutter sleeves and the mermaid skirt, making this style extra playful and elegant for both mother of the brides and mother of the grooms.
