Inspired by an Italian summer – think crisp blue oceans, abundant and bright lemon trees and sunsets in Positano, Elise and Alex’s wedding was a bright and cheer filled sight. Set amongst a lush backdrop with acres of greenery and features inspired by classical antiquity, a romantic scene was crafted, which was perfect for their Italian inspired wedding brief. The Palladio Arcadia is the scene, an elegant property which is located in the Sydney Hills District. This is where the couple’s ceremony and reception were held, allowing guests ease to be led from the nuptials to the celebrations. Elise & Alex were married on the 17th of February, their wedding was a late summer dream, with the sun shining and the sky blue. Their wedding guests were greeted with a welcome sign and seating chart which was printed on linen, and they received paper fans with the couple's initials handwritten on them in blue, with calligraphy by Christina Stamos Designs. Once the ceremony began, Elise walked down the aisle in a gorgeous Steven Khalil wedding gown and with a bouquet full of cala and oriental lilies, orchids, anthurium and baby's breath in hand. She walked alongside an aisle abundant with white, baby blue and lemon florals. Elise told us that she “always knew the type of gown I wanted,” and that “it was a dream to work with Steven Khalil to create my dream gown and veil.”
Before the ceremony began, Elise had her first look with both her bridesmaids, who were dressed in silky Positano inspired lemon shades, and her beautiful mum who wore our hand beaded Eliza Navy Gown. Elise and her mum shopped around for a dress for many months and had no luck. It wasn’t until Elise was on a photoshoot with us for Montique one day when she modelled the Eliza Dress. While she was modelling in this beaded style, she though how perfect it could be for her mum. Elise left the shoot eager to show her mum the picture she snapped of herself in the style and her mum loved the gown too. They waited until the dress was launched and then her Mum was able to try it on in our Sydney store, after which she knew it was the one and fell in love with it once again.
After the ceremony guests were led into the reception, and the hints of a European summer continued here. From dinner plates with Positano themed motifs and crystal tumblers and wine glasses, to guest seating placements which were handwritten on blue ribbons, the scene was set for an Italian summer soiree. Their reception also included a continuation of the lemon, blue, white and green colour palette which was seen throughout both the florals and the décor. Elise told us that her “vision was brought to life with the help of our wedding planners. We had Italian Inspired details and styling elements throughout the day. Our venue played a big role in tying together our theme as it has a very European feel to it”. Elise and Alex’s reception also indicated a shift from the formalities to party time. Elise had a change of dress and so did her mum. Elise’s mum wore our Khloe Navy Gown later in the evening, and it proved to be the perfect party dress for a wedding reception, it was formal enough for the occasion yet features playful elements for a celebratory moment.
