What To Wear For The Party Season

Party season is fast approaching and you have got to fill that wardrobe up with looks that will fit every party brief (yes, there is definitely more than one type of party!). Think those more casual dos or those desk to dinner types and even those late night evenings that may end later than anticipated but are always fondly remembered (minus the hangover, of course). How will you celebrate in style this year? We have put together an edit below of all the types of occasions that start to pop up around this time of year, and the best styles to wear and how to accessorise.

The Nights Out

Those nights out that involve endless amounts of cocktails, grazing plates,  spoonfuls of late night desserts and sips on affogatos. The nights out are all about fun embellishments like beaded or sequin dresses or colourful midi dresses. Cocktail dresses are also perfect for a night out, especially when they are paired with a chic strappy shoe. The little black dress or the little white dress was also made for this kind of night time occasion.

The Celebratory Drinks

The celebratory drinks are usually an after work affair and call for your best desk to dinner look. Your work dress is preferred here as it is office appropriate, yet you can easily dress this up for an after work drinks occasion. Dress up your favourite work dress with a fun pair of earrings and a clutch for a put together look that will have you feel confident all evening long.

The Alfresco Party

These open air affairs are a summer time go to. Think standing on the balcony overlooking the beach with your best friends by your side and a paloma in your hand. The alfresco party calls for a flowy and airy dress, like a midi dress that doesn’t cling to close to your body in the warmer months. Or even a full length gown that sways in the late afternoon breeze and offers you some leg coverage for those balmy nights.

The One Where You Have To Dress Up

This is usually those moments where it is obvious that the event calls for a dressier look or when you are going out with friends and everyone says – let’s dress up! Dressing up may involve sequin dresses or party dresses (think anything that is fun and fanciful). You can even dress up through accessories. Reach for sparkly hair accessories or bejewelled earrings for those dressed up parties.

Dinner With Friends

A restaurant by the sea or at a winery at a country side escape – either way your dinner with friends should involve something chic and something stylish. Depending on the vibes, the group chat messages and the talk about we should we wear, you can really get away with lots of different outfits for a dinner with friends. Think cocktail dresses or midi dresses or you could opt for a look that is all about separates. Even leaning towards your favourite little black dress is always a prime option.
